CBR value is measured at 2.5 mm & 5.0 mm penetration. Normally the CBR value at 2.5 mm penetration which is higher than that at 5.0 mm is reported as the CBR value of the material.
However, if the CBR value obtained at 5 mm penetration is higher than the CBR value at 2.5 mm penetration, test shall be re-conducted. If test result shows same result as previous, CBR at 5 mm penetration shall be taken as the CBR value of the material.
