6. Apply a thin coat of joint compound to the surface.
7. Place strips of fiberglass mesh tape over the joints and framing.
8. Cover the entire ceiling with a thin layer of mud.
9. Allow the mud to dry before sanding it down.
10. Paint the ceiling with at least two coats of paint.
