1. Gather the right materials. You will need large, durable stones, gravel, and sand. You will also need basic tools such as a hammer, chisel, shovel, and a level.
2. Start by leveling the area where you plan to build your wall. Dig down if necessary and add or remove soil as needed to ensure a level surface.
3. Begin by laying down a few large, flat stones. These will form the base for your wall and provide a foundation for the rest of the stones. Use a level to make sure the stones are even with each other.
4. Place the next set of stones on top of the first two, staggering them to create a uniform pattern. Make sure there is a slight gap between the stones, allowing mortar-like material (gravel and sand) to fill in the gaps.
5. Fill in the gaps between the stones with a mixture of gravel and sand. This will act as an adhesive and help keep the stones together without the need for mortar.
6. Continue adding layers of stones and packing in the gravel and sand until the wall reaches your desired height.
7. Finish off the rock wall by adding rocks on top, which will help protect it from the elements.
8. Once completed, you can add an additional layer of mortar for extra strength and durability, but this is not required.
