To acid stain a concrete patio, start by cleaning the concrete surface with a water and trisodium phosphate solution to remove any dirt or debris. Then, mix 1 part muriatic acid and 10 parts water in a plastic bucket and saturate the concrete with the mixture. Allow the acid to dry on the surface for up to 15 minutes.
Once it’s dry, spray the surface with a hose to neutralize the acid. Wait a few days before applying an acrylic sealant to protect the color and prevent fading.
