There are several ways to clean dry cement off tiles. The best method depends on the type of tile.
For ceramic and porcelain tiles, mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a bucket. Use a sponge or soft-bristle brush to scrub the cement off the tiles. Rinse the tiles thoroughly with clean water.
For natural stone tiles, such as marble and granite, first use a putty knife to scrape off as much of the cement as possible. Then mix a solution of 1 tablespoon of dish soap and 2 cups of warm water. Use a soft cloth and the soap solution to gently scrub the cement off the tiles. Rinse the tiles with clean water before wiping them down with a dry cloth.
For glass tiles, use a razor blade scraper to remove as much of the cement as possible. Then mix 1 part ammonia and 4 parts water in a bucket. Dip a sponge into the solution and scrub the tiles with it. Rinse with clean water and wipe down with a clean cloth.
