To install culvert pipe, you will need a few tools and materials:
1. Gravel
2. Culvert pipe
3. Shovel
4. Tape measure
5. Hacksaw
6. Rocks (optional)
Step 1: Measure and mark out the area where the culvert pipe is to be installed. Dig a trench for the pipe that is twice as wide and shallow as the pipe.
Step 2: Place gravel into the trench, filling it to just below the top of the pipe.
Step 3: Position the culvert pipe in the trench and check it for level.
Step 4: Backfill the trench with gravel or rocks, ensuring that the gravel or rocks support the weight of the pipe and are not pressing against it.
Step 5: Install end caps and secure them in place.
Step 6: Use a hacksaw to cut the pipe to the desired length, if necessary.
Step 7: Seal all joints and ends with caulking or mastic, to ensure the pipe is completely watertight.
Step 8: Check the pipe for level once more before refilling the trench.
