Making shotcrete requires:
1. A concrete mix with a 1 part cement to 3 parts sand mixture
2. Water
3. Dry mix admixture, such as an admixture to reduce cracking
4. Dry admixture to increase the binding of the concrete
5. An air compressor
6. Shotcrete nozzle
Steps:
See less1. Prepare the concrete mix in a container, mixing the cement and sand together.
2. Add water to the container and keep it just moist enough for the material to stick together when squeezed.
3. Add the dry mix admixtures (such as an admixture to reduce cracking and an admixture to increase the binding of the concrete) to the container and mix together.
4. Connect the air compressor to the shotcrete nozzle.
5. Aim the shotcrete nozzle at the area that you want to coat or patch and spray the shotcrete to the desired thickness.
6. Allow the freshly shotcrete surface to dry, usually overnight.
7. Touch up any rough spots or uneven areas with a trowel or brush.
