2. Fix any safety issues: Inspectors look for potential safety hazards, so it’s important to fix any broken steps or handrails, leaky pipes, faulty outlets and other issues.
3. Provide access to appliances: Make sure that inspectors have easy access to all of the appliances. Ensure refrigerator and freezer doors open and close easily and that all covers are in place.
4. Make sure utilities are working: Check that water, electricity, natural gas and any other utilities are working properly. Flush toilets, turn on lights, run the sinks and check doorbells to make sure they’re in good condition.
