The design seismic parameters for structures include seismic zone, soil type, importance factor, response reduction factor, and ductility factor. These parameters are used to determine the seismic forces that a structure is likely to experience during an earthquake and to design the structure to withstand these forces.
IS: 1893: 2002 (Part I) provides guidelines for determining these parameters based on the characteristics of the structure and the seismic zone in which it is located.
