The Location of manholes are

• When there will be a change in the grade of the sewer
• Alignments of sewer will be changed
• Somewhere when two different types of sewer will be there
• When two or more two sewers are meeting
• In a straight sewer at regular intervals depending upon the diameter.

The Function of the manhole are as follow:

• It is for carrying out inspection, for cleaning purposes, and also removing any obstruction if there.
• It is to change any alignment of sewer or joining of two sewers.
• It allows some gases to escape and also for ventilation purposes.
