      DPC stands for damp proof course, It is a layer of material which protects from penetration or passage of moisture into the structure through the walls, floors, or roofs.

      Purposes of the damp proof course (DPC) are as follows: –

      1. Protected from development of unpleasant patches.
      2. Protected from moisture.
      3. Protected from softening as well as crumbling of plasters.
      4. Protected from deterioration of doors and windows by warping.
      5. Protected from corrosion of pipes and fittings.
      6. Prevent the dampness of painted surfaces.
