In rural areas, bricks are usually made by hand. Commonly, a mixture of clay and sand is used, which is then combined with water to form a wet mixture. The mixture is then shaped into rectangular blocks, which are dried and stacked in piles for several weeks before being fired in kilns at temperatures exceeding 1,000°C.
This process provides the bricks with their strength, as well as their fiery orange color.
