Building a cheap house with natural materials is possible. The key is to use materials that are locally available, sustainable, and easy to construct. Examples include: interlocking cob or compressed straw, bamboo, adobe, rammed earth, and wattle and daub.
All of these materials can be used to construct walls, floors, and roofs. Additionally, local plant fibers like reeds or grasses can be used to make roofs. Recycled materials such as bottles, timber, and pallets can also be used in the building process.
