Building a culvert pipe slide can be done in several ways. To begin, you’ll need a culvert pipe with a circular or elliptical shape, a shovel and some gravel or sand. First, measure the length and circumference of the culvert pipe to determine the size of your slide.
Next, decide on the slope of your slide, as this will be determined by the height difference between the start and end points. You should aim for a gradual incline of around 8-10%.
Once the measurements have been taken and the slope established, use the shovel to dig a trench for the culvert pipe along the desired path. Make sure that the sides of the trench are level and steady. Next, place the culvert pipe into the trench and fill it with gravel or sand until the top of the pipe is flush with the ground.
Finally, compact the gravel or sand in the trench to make sure it is firmly packed and secure. If desired, you can also add some padding or fabric around the edges of the pipe to protect the users. Once everything is set, your culvert pipe slide is ready to use.
