To build a dry stack retaining wall, you will first need to excavate the area where the wall will be placed. Once this is done, lay down a base course of large flat stones and use a tamping tool to level them. Then, begin stacking smaller stones on top of the larger base course stones.
Make sure that the stones fit tightly together and use a level to check their alignment. Fill any gaps with smaller stones until the wall is at the desired height. Finally, use concrete screws or steel pins to secure the wall and ensure that it is stable.
