1. Measure the area where you would like to install the staircase and calculate what type of staircase would be best suited for the area.
2. Use a framing square to mark the walls, floor, and ceiling of the staircase to ensure that the measurements are accurate.
3. Begin constructing the staircase frame using pre-cut wood stringers that are placed on top of wooden risers. Secure the stringers with nails or screws.
4. Install the steps by cutting and nailing treads and riser boards onto the stairs.
5. Construct the landing for the staircase by cutting and framing a platform suitable for the measurements of your stairs.
6. Connect the staircase to the landing by securing it to the frame, adding diagonal braces and other support if necessary.
7. Finish the staircase by nailing the balusters and handrails to the stair and landing frames.
