      Compressive Strength of Concrete

      The capacity of a material or structure to carry loads on its surface without cracking or deflection is referred to as compressive strength.

      Compressive_strength_test on cement

      1. The compressive strength of concrete is affected by a variety of elements, including the water-cement ratio, cement strength, the quality of the concrete material, quality control throughout the manufacturing process, and so on.
      2. To get the compressive strength of concrete we need to conduct compressive strength test on cube.
      3. To do so cube has to be casted with the cubical mould of size 15cm x 15cm x 15cm, concrete is poured in mould and after 24 hours mould are removes to get the test specimens.
      4. Do proper curing of the cube for 14 or 28 days then the cubes are tested by compression testing machine.
      5. During the test load has to be applied gradually until the specimen fails.
      6. Take the reading of the load at which the specimen fails.
      7. Divide the total load with the area of the specimen to get the compressive strength of the concrete.
