2. Cut the drywall accordingly and attach it to the ceiling joists or furring strips with DRYWALL screws.
3. Secure the drywall by driving the screws every 8 to 12 inches around the perimeter.
4. Finish off the corners and seams with joint compound and fiberglass tape.
5. Sand down any excess joint compound and apply a coat of drywall primer before painting.
