Making cement mixture involves combining the right ratios of Portland cement, sand, and gravel or other aggregates. You will also need water to activate the chemical reaction that binds the components of concrete together.
Start by combining one part Portland cement and two parts sand in a wheelbarrow. Make sure all the materials are completely dry before you start. Once the dry ingredients are mixed, slowly add small amounts of water and use a shovel or hoe to mix the ingredients.
If it is too dry and won’t mix, add more water until it becomes a thick paste. Once the paste resembles the consistency of peanut butter, it is ready to be poured into the form. Then, use a trowel or float to make the top surface even and flat, and walk away and let it dry.
