See less1. Gather all the materials you will need such as cement, sand, a large container to use as a mold, water, and a mixing tool.
2. Mix the cement, sand, and water together into a thick paste.
3. Line the inside of the large container with something that will keep the cement from sticking to it, such as wax paper.
4. Pour the cement mixture into the container and use the mixing tool to smooth out the surface.
5. Let the cement dry for 24 hours.
6. Remove the planter from the mold and brush off any excess material.
7. Let the planter cure for several days before using it.
