To soundproof a ceiling, you will need to install sound-absorbing material such as acoustic foam, mineral wool, or mass-loaded vinyl (MLV). You should also seal any air gaps between the ceiling and walls around the room.
Additionally, you can use acoustic caulk to help seal holes, cracks, and seams as well as adding noise-absorbing fabric or curtains to windows and doors to help reduce noise from outside. Finally, if you have access to the upper space of the ceiling, insulating and soundproofing materials like fiberglass can be installed between joists.
