To subtract in AutoCAD, use the subtract command (the shortcut is ‘-‘) to create a second object that intersects and removes portions of the original object. The resulting object will be what remains after the subtraction of the two objects.
To subtract more than one object at a time, first select the objects you want to subtract then press the subtract command and select the object from which you want to subtract the shapes.
