Alluvial soil are those soils which are found in river basins that gets formed when streams and rivers slow their speed of flowing. These are formed by decomposition of the sediments which is brought by the rivers starting from the origin i.e, mountains. These soils are soils deposited by surface water.
These soils can be found along rivers, in floodplains and deltas, stream terraces, and in areas. Another name for it is the ‘Riverine Soil’.
