In this survey all the readings are noted down in a book which is known as a field book. The reading is taken with the help of the tape and chain.
The field book contains following data:-
      1.Angle measurements
      2.Survey station
      3.Distance measurements
      4.Baseline details
The date is used for making the plans or survey works by taking proper scale.

Chain surveying is a type of surveying that uses a chain or tape to measure distances and angles. It is a simple and inexpensive method of surveying that is used to measure distances and angles between points on the ground. The surveyor uses a chain or tape to measure the distances between points, and then uses a theodolite or other instrument to measure the angles between the points. The surveyor then records the data and uses it to create a map or plan of the area.
