      Darcy’s law states the principle which governs the movement of fluid in the given substance. Darcy’s law equation describes the capability of the liquid to flow via any porous media like a rock. The law is based on the fact according to which, the flow between two points is directly proportional to the pressure differences between the points, the distance, and the connectivity of flow within rocks between the points. Measuring the inter-connectivity is known as permeability.

      According to Darcy when water is flowing through soil medium, the velocity of flow is proportional to the velocity gradient under laminar flow. This law is not valid for turbulent flow. v = ki i = hydraulic gradient k= permeability of soil

      Darcy's law is an equation that describes the flow of a fluid through a porous medium. = instantaneous flow rate = permeability = dynamic viscosity of the fluid = pressure drop

      Darcy’s law is an equation that describes the flow of a fluid through a porous medium.

      q=- \frac {k}{\mu} \nabla p

      q = instantaneous flow rate
      k = permeability
      \mu = dynamic viscosity of the fluid
      \nabla p = pressure drop
