Kiln is a large, cylindrical oven in a cement plant used to heat materials to very high temperatures in order to create cement clinker. The heat is generated by burning fuels such as coal or gas inside the kiln.
The cement clinker formed is then cooled and ground into a fine powder, which is the finished cement product.
