Earthquakes and volcanoes are found in the same area because both phenomenon occur in areas of tectonic plate movement. When tectonic plates move, friction is created between them, which can cause earthquakes.
Volcanic activity is also generated when this friction causes magma and associated gases to be released from the Earth’s crust, creating an eruption.
