      Difference between a weir and a notch are as follows:

      Notch Weir
      A notch is a tool used for measuring the rate of flow i.e. discharge of a liquid through a small channel. A weir is a concrete structure , placed in an open channel over which the flow occurs.
      It is small in size. It is comparatively bigger in size.
      It is made up of metallic plate . It is made of masonry structure.
      Notch is an opening in the side of the tank. Weir is the notch on large scale used for measuring the flow of the fluid
