o build a creek rock retaining wall, start by marking out the area where the wall will be built and excavating the area, making sure to slope the back of the excavation away from the wall. Next, use a flat shovel or rake to level the ground, then add 4-6 inches of crushed stone or gravel to the bottom of the excavation.
