By calculating and considering the different loads acting on footing we can calculate the load that can be bear by footing.
Suppose we are considering a footing for a building then loads that need to consider on footing are
- Dead load- it considers the load by members of the building like columns, walls, etc. and the load needs to hide footings like plaster, and soil. Etc. are counted.
- Live load- the maximum load that can be available on a building sometimes.
- Seismic, snow & rain loads- loads due to maximum wind against the building, due to heavy snow or rainfall are counted.
- Soil’s lateral load- it counted on both the condition wet & dry.
