Shuttering oil is essentially a releasing agent which used to make shuttering smoother and increase its life. The quantity of shuttering oil required depends on two factors, the area of the shuttering, and the permeability of the shuttering material.
To calculate the amount of shuttering oil required, you need to first calculate the total area of the shuttering. This can be done by multiplying the length, width and height of the shuttering. Once you have the total area, you need to calculate the number of coatings of shuttering oil required for the project. This is dependent on the permeability of the shuttering material. Generally, 2-3 coats of shuttering oil are recommended for most shuttering materials.
Finally, the total shuttering oil required can be calculated by multiplying the total area with the number of coats of shuttering oil required.
