The following points to be considered while performing the slump test on concrete
- Using the mould called slump cone this test is done.
- First put the slump cone on smooth, levelled and flat surface.
- Now fill the slump cone with concrete mixture in three equal layer and hammer it 25 times after each layer, then remove excess concrete mixture from the top of the cone and make sure that top of the cone and mixture are at same level.
- Now slowly and steadily lift the cone on the vertical direction and allow the concrete mixture to slump down.
- When the settlement stops, measure the difference and it will be in millimeters which slump of that concrete mixture.
