1. Choose the right type of adhesive: Use a strong, permanent adhesive that is compatible with both acrylic and plywood, such as epoxy or acrylic glue.
2. Prep the surface: Make sure the surfaces are clean and free of dirt, dust, and any other contaminants. Use a cloth and denatured alcohol to remove any residue.
3. Apply the adhesive: Spread a thin layer of the adhesive onto one side of the acrylic sheet and the wood surface.
4. Place the acrylic: Carefully place the acrylic sheet onto the wood surface and press it down gently.
5. Allow it to cure: Give the adhesive sufficient time to set thoroughly before using the project. This can take up to 24 hours depending on the type of adhesive used.
