1. Begin by measuring the area you would like to cover with the plywood tabletop. You will need to purchase enough plywood for that area plus an extra half-inch for the overhang.
2. Cut the plywood to the measurements obtained in step 1, using a circular saw and a straight edge guide.
3. Sand the edges of the plywood with 80-grit sandpaper to smooth out any rough edges.
4. Apply wood glue to the underside of the plywood and place it on top of the table frame. Make sure it is centered and flush with the sides.
5. Secure the plywood to the table frame with screws. Drill pilot holes first before inserting the screws to prevent splitting the wood.
6. Sand the surface of the plywood with 120-grit sandpaper to even out any minor irregularities.
7. Apply a primer-sealer to protect the wood from water damage and help the finish adhere better. Allow to dry.
8. Finish off the plywood table top with a coat of paint or stain.
