Creating a spiral staircase in SketchUp is fairly straightforward. The first step is to draw the shape of the staircase using the Polygon, Arc and Line tools. Draw the stairs in a clockwise direction and ensure that the lines are connected and that there is a vertical line at the center point. Next, select the staircase, right-click and click on “Explode”. Then, use the Push/Pull tool to create the stair treads and risers. Finally, select the entire staircase and right-click to choose the “Follow Me” tool. Drag the cursor around the center axis and the stairs will be extruded along the spiral path.
