There are several ways to reset 3ds Max settings. The simplest is to delete the 3dsmax.ini file located in the user’s directory. To do this, go to the C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\AppData\Local\Autodesk\3dsMax\## (where ## is your version number) folder and delete the 3dsmax.ini file. Once deleted, launch 3ds Max and it will create a new default INI file with all settings reset.
Alternatively, you can also reset 3ds Max settings from within the application. To do this, go to Customize > Reset User Preferences > Reset All or Reset Selection, depending on what settings you wish to reset.
