AutoCAD includes tools that allow you to take measurements of existing objects and enter in new dimensions and specifications. To measure an object, use the ‘Measure’ command which is found in the Home tab of the ribbon.
Select the type of measurement you’d like to take, such as distance or area, and then click on two points along the object to generate a measurement. You can also enter exact dimensions for drawing objects using a variety of tools from the Modify tab.
