The most common causes for the breaking or failure of the seals are:
- proper installation is a must and if not done then it becomes the most common cause of seal failure. To install such seals need to use the right tool which critically prevents the seal from breaking or from installing in the wrong direction.
- It is common over the time wearing of the seal but we can prolong its life, and contamination is a common cause of wear. This contamination problem can be cured by using a specialized seal.
- Extrusion failure can cause due to high-pressure levels causing parts of the seal and can flow into the gap of hardware. So by redesigning it and making smaller the gap and being an option.
- Low-pressure leakage becomes a cause of failure due to less elasticity of the seal.
- In an ideal situation two seals can not be fixed in the same direction, but this can occur under some circumstances this happens and fluid is trapped between the seal. And due to the rise in pressure, it will burst.
