The “Flemish bond” is a bond in which headers and stretchers are laid alternately in the same direction.
The following are the salient features of Flemish bond:
Headers and stretchers are alternately laid in the same order.
A queen is put near to the quoin after the header in each optional course to provide a lap of about 2 14 in.
Brickbats can be used on walls that are more than one-half brick thick.
Every course’s header is centred over each stretcher of the underlying course.
