A total station theodolite is a surveying instrument which is used to measure angles and distances accurately on a construction site. It combines an electronic theodolite with an electronic distance meter.
The device is controlled by a user interface in order to accurately measure angles and distances in two or three dimensions. This instrument is used to map survey control points, carry out surveys, create 3D models and track movement over time.
