Slag cement, also known as ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBFS), is a by-product of the steelmaking process. It is a fine powder composed of iron, silicates, and other compounds that can be used as a replacement for Portland cement in concrete mixes to increase strength and reduce permeability.
