The Great Green Wall of Africa is being built as a major effort to combat desertification and climate change, while at the same time improving food security, economic opportunity and resource management throughout the continent. It is the largest living structure in the world, made of trees, shrubs, and other vegetation stretching across 11 countries across the southern edge of the Sahara Desert.
