Procedure of Sand Bituminous Premix patching

1. Making a rectangle of slightly larger size around the pot-hole and barricading the area.
2. Cutting around the pot-hole area to a rectangular shape with vertical edges up to a maximum depth of the existing pot-hole and removing all the loose aggregates.
3. Cleaning and removing all loose materials and dust.
4. Application of tack coat of suitable bituminous binder at the bottom and all vertical edges of the cut pot-hole, using a sprayer.
5. Filling up the prepared pot-hole with a dense bituminous premix; alternatively, an open-graded premix and seal coat may also be adopted.
6. Compaction of the patched mix using a suitable roller and finishing level with the adjoining pavement surfaces.

Filling the potholes, sometimes ruts, and cracks.
