The self-weight of a plate girder can be calculated by using the following equation:
Self-Weight = Weight of Plate x Length of Plates x Thickness of Plates
Where Weight of Plate is the unit weight of material used in the construction of the plate girder, Length of Plates is the total length of plates used in the girder and Thickness of Plates is the thickness of the plate being used.
