1. Sand the plywood surface using 120-grit sandpaper to ensure adhesion of the paint. Sand with the grain of the wood.
2. Wipe the plywood surface clean with a damp cloth to remove any sawdust generated by sanding. Allow the plywood to dry completely before proceeding.
3. Apply a primer to the plywood surface. Primer helps the paint adhere to the wood and provides a base coat for the color. Allow the primer to dry completely.
4. Use a brush or roller to apply a coat of paint to the primed plywood. For best results, use a high-quality exterior paint, such as acrylic paint or a urethane-based paint.
