An environmental impact assessment (EIA) is a process used to evaluate the potential impacts of a proposed project or activity on the environment. The purpose of an EIA is to identify, predict, evaluate, and communicate the potentially significant environmental impacts of a proposed project.
To complete an EIA, you must first define the scope of the project, assess the potential impacts of the project on the environment, identify any mitigation measures to reduce or avoid those impacts, provide an overall analysis of the potential effects, and make recommendations for further study or monitoring.
