Like steel we use is stored in the open air and sudden rain and dirt cause corrosion and that steel can not be used in construction. So any construction can not be done without some wastage, minimum wastage percentage may be 10%?.
Standard wastage of construction materials:
- Cement – 1%
- Reinforcement steel – 3%
- Structure steel – 10% in plate and 5% wastage in other steel sections.
- Course aggregate – 2.5%
- Fine aggregate – 2.5%
- Formwork – 5%
