Given data:
ISA 100×75×8mm, diameter of rivet = 16mm, tensile strength = 150N/mm²
At = 26.72 cm² = 2672mm² (from steel table)
Strength = Stress × At × Anet
Anet = A1+ (A2 × K)
K = (3A1)/3A1+A2
A1 = t(b- t/2) = 568mm²
A2 = (l-d-t/2) = 100-17.5-8/2 =78.5mm²
{where d= nominal diameter+ 1.5}
Therefore, K = (3× 568) /3(568)+ 78.5 = 0.95
Anet = 568 +(78.5×0.95) = 642.575mm²
Now, the strength = 150 × 2672 ×642.575 = 257.54KN
