To wire a dimmer switch to a ceiling light, you will need to connect the dimmer switch to the electrical wiring of your home. First, turn off the circuit breaker and remove the existing light switch from the wall. Then, connect the ground wire from the ceiling light fixture to the green grounding terminal on the dimmer switch. Next, connect the black wire from the ceiling light fixture to the gold terminal screw on the dimmer switch.
Connect the black wire from the wall switch to the copper terminal screw on the dimmer switch. Finally, connect the white wire from the ceiling light fixture to the silver terminal screw on the dimmer switch and connect the white wire from the wall switch to the brass terminal screw on the dimmer switch. Once all the connections are complete, turn on the circuit breaker and test the dimmer switch.
