      Parking is the major problem that is increasing by increasing road traffic users. It has an great impact on transport development. The less space availability has increased the demand of parking spaces.

      Parking system can be of two types :

      3. On Street Parking

      4. Off Street Parking

      On Street Parking : In this type of parking , vehicles are parked on the side of the street. Some common types of ‘ on street parking ‘ are

      • Parallel parking

      • 30° parking

      • 45° parking

      • 60° parking

      • Right angled parking

      Off Street Parking : In this type of parking, vehicles are parked at the specified place which is specially allotted for parking at some distance from main street.

      Some examples of Off – Street Parking are :

      ï‚§ Parking lots

      ï‚§ Multi-storey car parks

      ï‚§ Underground parking

      ï‚§ Roof parking

      ï‚§ Surface car parks, etc.

      This type of parking are very close to airports, railway station, bus stands , commercial complex .

      Surface car parks :

      This type of parking is used in super market, offices, complex , etc.

      In this type of parking size of stall is 2.3 m × 4.75 m.

      Multi-storey car parks :

      This type of parking are designed for 400 – 500 car parking.

      Parking building should have 4 – 5 floors.

      This type of parking are used for large area.

      Roof parking :

      This type of parking are used when there is less space for parking so the roofs are used for parking.

      In this type of parking , vehicles are lifted from base to the roof by mechanical lift or ramps.
